A Major Step Forward in PCG Power's Globalisation Strategy: PCG Global Launches in New Zealand

2025.06.17

Local Integration, Strategic Take-off

The launch ceremony paid homage to the profound Māori cultural traditions, beginning with a traditional Māori welcome ceremony.

In his welcome speech, Dr. Yang Jian, Chairman of the New Zealand Chinese Business Club and the Federation of New Zealand Chinese Business Associations Incorporated, highlighted the long-standing and stable economic and trade ties between China and New Zealand, with China being New Zealand's largest trading partner. He noted that photovoltaics and energy storage are rapidly becoming new focal points for cooperation in energy, economy, trade, and technology between the two countries.

Mr. Li Wenxuan, Chairman of PCG Global, reaffirmed the company's long-term commitment to the New Zealand market: “The establishment of PCG Oceania represents a key strategic move in our global expansion. Building on PCG Power's profound expertise in China's commercial and industrial photovoltaic and energy storage sectors, we are dedicated to supporting New Zealand's energy transition and sustainable development of communities. We will operate with full localisation, aiming to create a win-win model that integrates clean energy, local economy and ecological protection—delivering more stable and cost-effective green energy solutions for our commercial and industrial clients.”

Mr. Johnny Sun, Chief Executive Officer of Dreamhome Group, remarked: “This collaboration with PCG Global is a benchmark for integrating world-leading photovoltaic technology with local development and operational expertise. We look forward to jointly delivering efficient, smart and reliable clean energy solutions to businesses, industrial parks and cities in New Zealand. This initiative will actively stimulate economic growth through local technical job creation, industrial cluster development, and strategic expansion of New Zealand's clean energy infrastructure.”

Desley Simpson, Deputy Mayor of Auckland, and Simon Bridges, Chief Executive Officer of Auckland Business Chamber and former Energy Minister of New Zealand, extended their warm congratulations on the launch of PCG Oceania. They expressed confidence that PCG Oceania would make substantive contributions to accelerating New Zealand's transition to 100% renewable electricity generation.

Global Resources Empowering Regional Markets

Headquartered in Singapore, PCG Global was jointly initiated by the founding team of PCG Power and other prominent players in the global renewable energy sector. The platform is dedicated to international commercial and industrial renewable energy markets, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and robust supply chain resources across the industry. It draws upon the full-chain expertise and successful investment, development, and operational track record of PCG Power—a leading provider of investment and operational services in new power systems in China, with over 1GW of cumulative grid-connected capacity within China.

The launch in New Zealand represents the first move in PCG Global's "Solar Triangle Strategy"—covering Oceania, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. This inaugural deployment carries significance well beyond a single market entry. PCG Oceania will replicate and localise PCG Power's proven success in China's commercial and industrial distributed PV sector, delivering economical, intelligent and reliable one-stop clean energy solutions to businesses, industrial parks and cities in New Zealand—driving energy transition and the sustainable development across all communities.

Core Strengths Driving Global Ambitions

Robust Capital Engine: Through its global asset management platform, Greenwill Asset Management PTE. LTD., PCG Global is collaborating with partners across Oceania, the Middle East, and Indonesia to establish dedicated photovoltaic development funds with a total size exceeding USD 700 million. These funds aim to support the investment and development of 4–5GW of photovoltaic assets globally (China excluded).

Technological Integration and Innovation: By forging in-depth partnerships with world-leading supply chain players, PCG Global ensures the delivery of cutting-edge technological solutions with competitive prices for its clients.

Mature Operational Framework: PCG Global has successfully transferred PCG Power's refined full-lifecycle operational framework and experience, built on over 1GW of project deployment across China.

International Professional Team: The core management team boasts over a decade of global asset management and photovoltaic industry experience. The organisation continues to attract top international talents and world-class partners.

Acceleration of the “Solar Triangle Strategy”

PCG Global's international footprint is expanding rapidly. The company has already secured a 1.8GW project pipeline across its three strategic regions, demonstrating its robust execution and resource mobilisation capabilities:

  • Oceania (New Zealand): PCG Global has achieved breakthrough progress. In addition to advancing a 180MW project pipeline, the 86kW demonstration project at Asian Town has been successfully connected to the grid. This sets a technical and operational benchmark for forthcoming large-scale projects, including Outlet City. More importantly, PCG Oceania will establish an independent localised operations and control centre. Through real-time data monitoring and AI-based dispatching systems, this platform will optimise power station performances and enable participation in electricity trading in local market, deeply integrating into the regional energy ecosystem.
  • Middle East: A 900MW pipeline of commercial and industrial photovoltaic projects has entered the development preparation phase.
  • Southeast Asia (Indonesia): A 700MW project pipeline is making steady progress. The final design for the first-phase 8.5MW BTR Industrial Park project has been completed, with construction expected to commence in late June and grid connection targeted for late October.

The successful launch of PCG Oceania in New Zealand marks a substantial breakthrough for PCG Power and PCG Global in their globalisation strategy. It signals the beginning of a new phase in which China's capabilities are integrated into global markets—delivering proven experience and solutions through the coordinated deployment of international resources.
